Renewable Energy
The company proposes to use the basic knowledge available in
Anglesey for identifying and developing the scope for using
renewable energy technologies such as offshore heat pumps, wind
turbines, communal solar energy, tidal energy and energy from
landfill gases. An example of the potential for such systems is
in the vicinity of Cameas Bay in the northern part of Anglesey
Island. This Bay is renowned for its regular hot water tidal
flows and would be ideal for a heat pump system. Set in a windy
bay, it also affords an opportunity for offshore wind turbine
systems to supply electricity to the local community. The
company aims to provide an integrated approach to energy
planning and sustainable development leading to the development
of a low energy economy. This would build upon the EU Directive
on ‘The promotion of electricity produced from renewable energy
sources in the internal electricity market.’
