Previous NELEEAC Projects
Affordable
Warmth For Waltham Forest
This
project was aimed at promoting and raising awareness in the borough.
It achieved this by providing information and better education on
fuel poverty awareness to both residents and employers. Training
for residents made them more aware of the need to reduce CO2 emissions
in accordance with government targets. Loans and grants help
with installation costs involved and residents won prizes for completing
home energy checks.
Information was posted to 1800 households,
especially targeting ethnic minority groups, the disabled, chronically
sick and those on low incomes. NELEEAC acted as a ‘one stop’
centre providing access to advice on energy efficiency. Roadshows
and outreach sessions promoted energy efficient ener4gy use as a sustainable
solution in tackling fuel poverty – while also cutting fuel bills.
A Home Visit scheme was created for the elderly or disabled.
