What is FEEDU?
The FEEDU Project (Persuasive
force of children through education), belongs to the Intelligent
Energy – Europe Programme 2005-2007, which aims at the energy
awareness of children in primary schools, with the emphasis on
the education of educators-teachers.
The project is based on the
experience of a former FEE-Project, and Altener project that was
held from 2002-2004. The nature of the FEE-project was the use
of interactive methods in schools in order to learn children
about energy consumption. The difference between FEE and FEEDU
is that, in FEEDU we will teach the teachers how to work with
energy content on a project based way.
The North East London Energy
Efficiency Advice Centre is currently a partner in this exiting
new European Union funded initiative. Practically, the project
also has its target group's-teachers, educators, pupils, as well
as parents. The quoted subjects are related to rational energy
management, renewable energy sources and transport management
issues. The project involves ten primary schools in the East
London area in conjunction with schools in 8 other European
Union Countries, such as, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, United
Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, France, Germany, and Slovakia. The 13
organisations, mostly energy agencies in the different countries
are committed to and involved in the project as a
project-facilitate partner.
