FEE
PROJECT

WHAT IS FEE
PROJECT?
Fee project was a great new project for
teaching – a programme that turned whole school, Primary and
Secondary, into a resource for learning. The FEE-Project (Force
Énergétique par les Enfants),
was belonged to the European Altener Program 2002-2003.
The aim of the FEE
(Force Energetique pour Enfants- Encouraging children to save
energy) project was to raise the awareness of young people on
energy and environmental issues. The objective of the project
was for changing attitudes to result in a change their behaviour
in such a way that they act in a more energy efficient manner
and consider the importance of using renewable energy instead of
fossil fuels.
The communication
strategy was to work with children in order to draw their
attention and consequently their parents to the need for a more
rational use of energy resources and of the benefits of using
renewable energy sources. At the same time we were aimed to set
up an educational communication system for the local residents
(to begin with the children, then the parents). By way of a
newsletter (and web-site) the project was intended to stimulate
awareness in the community of the importance of the environment
and of saving energy.
East London
Energy Efficiency Advice Centre was a partner in this exciting
new European Union funded initiative for increasing the energy
awareness of pupils in schools. The project was involved five
secondary and five primary schools in the East London areas to
develop the project in conjunction with schools in seven other
European Union Countries -
Estonia ,France,
Great-Britain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Sweden and Belgium.
